How does it work? BOTOX Cosmetic® works by relaxing the muscles
underneath the skin. This softens the overlying wrinkles and creates a smooth
and relaxed appearance.

What can I expect during the treatment? Generally, after the consultation,
the procedure only takes about 15 minutes. The medication is injected with a
very tiny needle and the discomfort is minimal. It is so quick and safe that you
can immediately return to your daily activities (and no one will know you have
had it done!)

Does it work right away? Is it Permanent? No - the onset of the effect is
gradual.  The full effect is seen in 7-10 days. No - BOTOX Cosmetic® is not
permanent. It lasts between 3-4 months on average.

Will I look stone faced with no expression? Will I lose sensation? Proper
Botox Cosmetic treatment by a qualified, experienced physician softens your
appearance and reduces dynamic wrinkles while allowing good facial expression.
We customize the treatment for each patient to get the desired result. Botox
Cosmetic treatment does not effect sensation in any way.

What are the side effects? Will I get a droopy eyelid? Side effects are rare
and are not permanent. Rarely, there can be a slight headache or some minor
bruising which is easily covered up with makeup. Ptosis [droopy lid ] is rare and
is always temporary. It occurs in less than 1% of patients and to date, we have
had no patients with this side effect.

How much does it cost? The cost depends on the amount of BOTOX
Cosmetic® that you require. A proper consultation with our clinic is required in
order to determine what is right for you. Generally, the price ranges from $350
and up.  The full cost of treatment will be discussed with you before the
procedure is done. As opposed to some clinics, Dr. Shiffman prefers to see his
patients 2 weeks after treatment. Minor touch-ups, if needed, are included in the
price. We have found that patient satisfaction improves dramatically when this is
done.

Why should I get BOTOX Cosmetic® with Dr. Shiffman instead of another
clinic? Dr. Shiffman is a dermatologist with over 25 years of experience.
Because he is a dermatologist he has an exceptional understanding of the skin
and anti-aging techniques. Our BOTOX Cosmetic® patients return to our office
because of our ability to customize the treatments to achieve the individual look
each person wants. Our goal is to give you the best in customer service and
excellent treatment results. As of March 2007 he has performed over 1700 Botox
procedures and regularly attends conferences where the latest information and
techniques are discussed. Dr. Shiffman personally performs all Botox Cosmetic
treatments done in his office. He does not designate the treatment to a
nurse/technician.
